Twenty One Pilots Recruit Dancing Security Team For Reading Festival Set

Reading Festival 2019 - Day Two

This weekend's Reading and Leeds festivals have been full of surprises — Foo Fighters covered "Under Pressure" with a Freddie Mercury look alike, The 1975 previewed their upcoming album Notes on a Conditional Form, and Twenty One Pilots had a dancing security team.

During their set on Saturday night (August 24), Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun encouraged fans to show off their best dance moves. Or rather, had the security detail do it. “I’m gonna give you an example of what I mean by dance. It’s not coming from me though,” Joseph said before the camera panned to three security guards, all busting a move. The band then dove into "My Blood" and ended the performance by joining five more members of security for some more epic dancing. Check out footage below.

TOP also paid homage to British music by covering Oasis' "Don't Look Back In Anger" during their set.

“We wanna thank you as a couple of Americans. Thanks for letting us come across the pond and play at your festival,” Joseph told the crowd while sitting behind a piano. “We have such a deep respect for your musical culture, your festival culture over here. For you to let us be a part of that, it really means a lot to us.”

"So this next one I dedicate to you as a thank you note,” he added before diving into the iconic song. Watch footage of the cover below.

This fall, TOP head out on another leg of their length Bandito tour. Check out a full list of dates here.
