The Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger is one of the most famous musicians ever, fronting one of the biggest bands in music history, and as such his impact has been felt across the industry. One notable instance was when Maroon 5 reference him in the band's song "Moves Like Jagger," a track that ultimately caught the attention of the man himself. In fact, Jagger recently shared a hilarious video of him moving like, well, himself, as he danced along to the song. Now Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine is sharing his thoughts on the full-circle moment.
During his appearance on The Tonight Show on Wednesday (April 10), Levine called the moment "surreal" when host Jimmy Fallon brought up the Rolling Stones icon dancing to Maroon 5's 2011 song, per People. He added that he was surprised more people didn't send him links to the video, only getting notified from his mom and a friend.
"It's really surreal," he said. "It's just one of those things you're like, 'Oh my, like how is this possible? What is happening? It's bizarre."
Levine, who welcomed his third child with wife Behati Prinsloo last year, also hinted in the interview that new music is in the works that he said will "sound a lot like it did in the very beginning" of Maroon 5.
"For the first time in about 13 years, I've decided to take the reins back from the songwriting part of it," he said, adding that "the ideas come either from myself or the band. So that we're not going to have any real co-writes. The ideas are coming straight from the nucleus of Maroon 5."
